| On | 1010 | 1 |
Note:
BCST-46,BCST-60,BCST-70,P6(and some corresponding variants) do not have this setting. Actual availability depends on what the device reports.
Suffix (Enter / Tab)¶
Append Enter, Tab, or nothing after barcode data. Controlled by two independent switches; when Tab (1055) is enabled, Enter (1028) should be disabled — they are mutually exclusive.
| Status | flag | value |
|---|---|---|
| Append Enter | 1028 | 1 |
| Do not append Enter | 1028 | 0 |
| Append Tab | 1055 | 1 |

|---|---|
| Append Enter | [{"flag":1028,"value":1},{"flag":1055,"value":0}] |
| Append Tab | [{"flag":1028,"value":0},{"flag":1055,"value":1}] |
| No suffix | [{"flag":1028,"value":0},{"flag":1055,"value":0}] |
Auto Sleep / Auto Power Off¶
To save power, you can enable auto sleep and set the sleep time.
| Status | flag | value |
|---|---|---|
| Off | 1012 | 0 |
| On | 1012 | 1 |
Auto sleep time (unit: minutes):
| Status | flag | value |
|---|---|---|
| 1 minute | 1021 | 1 |
| 3 minutes | 1021 | 3 |
| 5 minutes | 1021 | 5 |
| 10 minutes | 1021 | 10 |
| 30 minutes | 1021 | 30 |
| 60 minutes | 1021 | 60 |
Some AI firmware also has a related flag
1073; actual availability depends on what the device reports.
Inventory Mode¶
When enabled, scanned barcodes are not output immediately but stored in the scanner cache and can be uploaded multiple times. Enabling Inventory Mode may disable some cache-related switches (such as double-click upload).
Note: Some devices such as
BCST-46do not have this setting.
| Status | flag | value |
|---|---|---|
| Off | 1013 | 0 |
| On | 1013 | 1 |
| Inventory duplicate scan check Off / On | 1043 | 0 / 1 |
When duplicate scan check is on: a duplicate scan triggers a double beep alert and the duplicate barcode is discarded.
For inventory / cache-related operations, see also Inventory Mode API.
Cache Management¶
If the receiver is out of transmission range, the scanner can store barcodes in cache and continue collecting until the buffer is full. Pro 8 / Pro 8 SE (including AI) typically do not provide a cache management entry.
| Description | flag | value |
|---|---|---|
| Double-click upload (legacy) | 1014 | 0 Off / 1 On |
| Clear cache on power-on | 1015 | 0 Off / 1 On |
| Auto upload cache | 1016 | 0 Off / 1 On |
| Double-click upload (new, bit combination) | 1071 | See table below |
Double-click Upload (1071)
By default both bit0 and bit1 are 0 (Off). After a successful connection, if auto upload is not enabled, barcodes in the cache will not upload automatically; to upload, quickly double-click the scan key.
| value | Meaning |
|---|---|
| 0 | Off |
| 1 (bit0) | Upload barcode content |
| 2 (bit1) | Upload barcode count |
| 3 (bit0+bit1) | Upload both content and count |
Auto Upload Cache (1016)
When enabled, after a successful connection the scanner counts down about 3 seconds, then uploads the cache with a beep. If an App is already connected, the cache is not uploaded.
Data Transmission Format¶

| Hide special start characters | 1057 | 0 Off / 1 On |
Data Transmission Interval¶
By default this product can operate in high-speed transmission mode (0 ms interval). With slower host software (e.g. some Android Excel apps), a short interval may cause data loss, so increase the interval as needed.
| Interval | flag | value |
|---|---|---|
| 0ms | 1031 | 0 |
| 8ms | 1031 | 8 |
| 16ms | 1031 | 16 |
| 32ms | 1031 | 32 |
| 64ms | 1031 | 64 |
| 96ms | 1031 | 96 |
| 128ms | 1031 | 128 |
| 256ms | 1031 | 255 |
Note: The “256ms” shown in the UI / documentation corresponds to the write value
255, not256.
Output Character Type (Encoding)¶
Let the host output character data using the specified encoding. The main flag is 1037; ISO-8859-1 also requires 1041.
| Description | flag | value |
|---|---|---|
| Shift-JIS (Japanese systems, Japan market) | 1037 | 0 |
| GBK (Chinese systems) | 1037 | 1 |
| Raw encoding | 1037 | 2 |

| ISO-8859-1 (Western European Latin, e.g. äüö) | 1037=4 and 1041=1 | See notes |
| Enable ISO8859 | 1041 | 0 Off / 1 On |
Input Encoding Type (1084, Japan market, etc.)
| Status | value |
|---|---|
| Shift-JIS | 0 |
| Auto | 2 |
| UTF-8 | 3 |
Multi-Code Recognition¶
Supports outputting multiple barcodes in a single read. The device must report 1049 / 1050, and the firmware minor version is generally ≥ 7 (e.g. 1.7.x, 2.8.x) before this is available; not limited to a single model.
| Description | flag | value |
|---|---|---|
